Economic Outlook: The economic outlook for the remainder of 2019 is at best fair, whereas 2020 should be better because the White House will pull out all the stops to push growth in order to win the election. The Federal Reserve is prepared to lower short-term interest rates as the U.S. economy slows. All interest rates are declining which is another important stimulant for growth. Good job growth and unemployment remain plusses for the economy.

Our stock market remains strong with the Standard & Poor’s Industrial Stock average completing a great six-month performance hitting an all-time high. We are pleased with the performance with our mutual fund choices, both growth and income. Speaking of income funds, BlackRock Floating Rate Income Trust (Symbol BGT) announced its second distribution increase (8.1%) effective this month. The new distribution rate (80 cents per share, looking forward) equals an approximate yield of 6.4% based on the stock’s current price of $12.44.

Please join us on July 31st for our inaugural shred event. Shredding sensitive information is a key way to protect your identity. From drop-off to destruction, all documents will be constantly monitored by Moneywatch team members. On site shredding will be performed by Wildcat Shredding. We will have a dedicated truck for this time period.

What to shred? Here’s a list of things to consider shredding:

• Old account statements (bank, brokerage, etc.)
• Tax returns that are more than 7 years old
• Credit card offers
• Obsolete documents that contain your personal information (social security number, date of birth, driver’s license number, etc.)
• Obsolete estate documents
• Old utility bills
• Paycheck stubs from previous years
