Getting started is the most important goal, the sooner the better because time is our best friend. There will never be a perfect investment. Delaying the start in search of perfection will cost you dearly. Each investment has its own purpose, which is why we stress the importance of asset allocation. Long time horizons and diversity of assets will serve you well.
Don’t Be Afraid To Fail
You’ve failed many times, although you may not remember.
You fell down the first time you tried to walk.
You almost drowned the first time you tried to swim, didn’t you?
Did you hit the ball the first time you swung a bat? Heavy hitters, the one who hit the most home runs, also strike out a lot.
R.H. Macy failed seven times before his store in New York caught on.
English novelist John Creasey got 753 rejection slips before he published 564 books.
Babe Ruth struck out 1,330 times but he also hit 714 home runs.
Don’t worry about failure. Worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try.

Moneywatch promotes achievement of long term financial goals for investors who are not concerned about the day to day vagaries of the financial markets. Being long term oriented means having completed our strategic planning which represents guidelines that attempt to ensure our shared success. Tactics are the specific methods for implementing our strategy. Clearly defined goals; I want to have $1,000,000 in investment capital in a specified time frame, 20 years from now, so that I can pursue a new life, as a retiree or in a new career.
A conservatively balanced portfolio of income and growth investments is our strategy. Depending on one’s level of savings and the time horizon determines the balance. Mutual funds, income oriented and growth oriented, are the tactics Moneywatch deploys to accomplish the task of capital growth and preservation.
