July 2014 Newsletter to Clients
Submitted by Moneywatch Advisors on July 9th, 2015Why would you, as a client, choose to recommend Moneywatch over another independent financial advisory firm? To properly prepare you to respond, we must discuss the current and future status of the firm, your company contacts, their respective duties and how your money is actually managed.
Founded in 1980, Moneywatch Advisors has provided fee only financial advice to well over 400 families for some 34 years. Experience is everything and while we recognize a client may present a new challenge, we have worked our way through a vast array of financial situations and provided good results.
Bob Bova, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer and founder, with 46 years of experience in the investment arena shares company leadership with Ramsey Bova.
Ramsey, President and CFP® professional, is the chief operating officer in charge of running the day to day business. Her grooming as Bob’s successor began when she enrolled at Clemson University as a finance major 20 years ago. She has proved to be a capable executive and leader over the past 16 years.
Bill Leffler, Vice President and CFP® professional, has spent 27 years providing investment counsel and financial advice to clients. Our newest team members are Joe Bonilla, Associate Financial Advisor, and Lee Chapman, Operations Manager. Although we are all capable of answering questions regarding your financial statements your personal advisors (Ramsey, Bob or Bill) would be able to provide the most informed answer. We operate as a team and meet every Monday to discuss the week ahead. All five of us are dedicated to building the firm to provide continuing service to existing and new clients.
Investment strategy focuses on proper asset allocation which is an appropriate balance between income and growth assets. Income assets are primarily intended to provide a stream of income. Growth assets, which are more volatile than income assets, are owned for their capital appreciation. Currently, our primary income assets are two BlackRock Funds & the Lord Abbett Floating Rate Fund, and in the growth category are American Century Heritage and Value Funds, Janus Triton Fund, Oakmark Fund, First Eagle Gold Fund, Harbor International Fund and Harris & Harris (TINY), the venture capital investment firm specializing in nanotechnology and microsystems. And for the many of you who have active retirement plans (401k's or 403b's) the investment choices go far beyond our list. We review each choice and make an appropriate selection to fit your specific financial plan and objectives.
Attention senior citizens (70+) who are required to withdraw from their Individual Retirement Accounts - Congress is discussing allowing us again to make charitable contributions from our IRAs without penalty of taxation. We will keep you informed.
Thanks for your continuing confidence.
